Truth Agent Goes Cross-Platform: Windows, Mac and Linux
The public record should not depend on which computer you own
Truth Agent 1.2 Beta is expanding beyond Windows.
The focused federal accountability and research workspace from Truth Trench Think Tank is now available for Windows, Apple Silicon Mac, and supported Debian/Ubuntu Linux systems.
That matters because public information belongs to the public. A person following federal spending, rulemaking, oversight findings, court records, congressional activity, FOIA offices, enforcement actions, military updates, public deadlines, or government opportunities should not be excluded because of the operating system on their desk.
Truth Agent gives that work a home.
It brings official-source research, saved evidence, personal notes, public dates, source watches, federal opportunities, and The Dig into one focused desktop workspace. It helps people find the record, preserve what matters, and return to the original source when it is time to verify, publish, apply, comment, request records, or take responsible action.
Truth Agent is not a chatbot, companion, or news outlet. It is a practical research engine for people who ask questions and check the record.
One research mission, three desktop platforms
Truth Agent now supports three major desktop environments:
Windows
The Windows edition supports 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems. It installs for the current user and provides familiar Desktop and Start-menu access.
Apple Silicon Mac
The current Mac edition is built for Apple Silicon Macs, including systems using Apple M-series chips. The Mac package is signed with an Apple Developer ID, notarized by Apple, and delivered as a standard DMG. The Truth Agent application also carries the Digging Man icon so it is easy to recognize in Applications, Launchpad, or on the Desktop.
An Intel Mac requires a separately built x86_64 edition. Readers should confirm their Mac processor before downloading.
Linux
Truth Agent is also available as a Debian package for supported Debian/Ubuntu-family Linux systems.
Two Linux architectures are supported:
amd64for most 64-bit Intel and AMD computersarm64for 64-bit ARM computers
Linux users can confirm their architecture by running dpkg --print-architecture and selecting the package with the matching architecture in its filename.
Your research stays local to your computer
Across Windows, macOS, and Linux, Truth Agent runs as a local desktop workspace. Its private local service listens only on the computer’s loopback interface.
Notes, research files, saved evidence, calendar entries, source watches, alerts, settings, local protection records, and activation information are stored in the operating system’s per-user data location. Updating the application is designed to replace program files without erasing the separate research collection.
When a user searches a live official source, Truth Agent sends the search information needed to retrieve that public record. The responsible government or public system may operate under its own logging and privacy policies. Consequential findings should always be checked at the linked original source.
Truth Agent does not sell personal information.
Follow the record from one focused workspace
Truth Agent helps users work across public information that is normally scattered among many websites and files.
The Federal Accountability Console reaches public systems covering:
- Inspector General and oversight findings
- Federal spending, awards, grants, contracts, and exclusions
- Regulations.gov rulemaking records
- Congressional records and legislative activity
- Available federal court opinions
- FOIA agency components
- Ethics, elections, and influence disclosures
- Public enforcement material
- FEMA disaster declarations and CISA vulnerability records
- Treasury, OMB, and CBO fiscal information
Connected Records can search across multiple accountability sources and organize returned material in one place. Important findings can be preserved in Evidence File / The Dig with source information, identifiers, retrieval time, and a SHA-256 record digest.
Truth Agent also includes federal dates, government opportunities, official military updates, NOAA conditions, USNO sun and moon information, personal research files, notes, and local research search.
The software helps prepare the work. The user remains in control of what is reviewed, changed, shared, or submitted.
Built for verification, not blind trust
Truth Agent does not guarantee that an official source is accurate, complete, current, or continuously available. It does not replace independent verification, professional advice, or review of the original public record.
Instead, it keeps the source close.
That distinction is central to the Truth Trench mission. Responsible public research is not about accepting every claim on sight. It is about finding the record, preserving the evidence, comparing what changed, and knowing where the information came from.

Truth Agent 1.2 remains a beta release. Public testing helps identify installation problems, platform differences, source failures, accessibility issues, and workflow improvements before a broader production release.
