New in Beta 2.0
- Jump back to the source. Every result links to the exact federal page it came from.
- Read it without leaving. A built-in reader opens official pages inline; a private window handles sites that block embedding — no third-party tabs, no carried-over cookies.
- Your research library. Save notes and files into a local, searchable collection beside The Dig.
- The calendar opens to the record. Click a date and go straight to the Supreme Court argument transcript, that day’s Congressional Record, or the committee-hearing transcript when it posts. Recent hearing transcripts load automatically.
- Listen in-app. Official agency podcasts — GAO, FBI, VA, NSF, NTSB, NOAA, NASA, the Library of Congress — plus a weekly Truth Trench wrap-up, in a player that keeps going while you work.
- Read aloud. Have results, a source page, a note, or a calendar entry read back to you.
- Built-in committee-hearing transcripts and a veterans resource directory.

Federal information is public. Following it is still harder than it should be.
The record is scattered across agency sites, Inspector General reports, spending databases, rulemaking dockets, congressional records, court opinions, FOIA offices, enforcement announcements, military sources, Grants.gov, and countless downloaded files.
One question becomes ten browser tabs. One record disappears into a folder. One comment deadline gets missed. One agency action changes and you never know.
Truth Agent gives that work a home — search official systems, preserve what matters, follow deadlines, catch changes, and keep the original source one click away.
The Federal Accountability Console
Ten areas of public federal information in one workspace. Search one at a time, or use Connected Records to look across them at once.
- Inspector General & oversight — IG reports, audits, open recommendations, improper-payment findings, Oversight.gov, GAO High Risk.
- Federal spending & exclusions — awards, contracts, grants, recipients, agencies, official exclusion resources.
- Rulemaking — Regulations.gov by subject, agency, or docket; prepare a comment draft and add the deadline to your calendar. Truth Agent never submits it for you.
- Congress — Congress.gov legislation, nominations, committee reports, actions.
- Federal courts — authenticated GovInfo court opinions.
- FOIA — find the right agency component and prepare a request draft you submit yourself.
- Ethics, elections & influence — FEC records, executive financial disclosures, federal lobbying disclosures.
- Enforcement — public DOJ, FTC, and SEC actions, settlements, and releases.
- Operational risk — FEMA disaster declarations and CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities.
- Federal fiscal position — Treasury Fiscal Data, Debt to the Penny, OMB and CBO materials.
Each result can carry the official source and link, agency, record type, publication date, status, award amount, identifiers, a source excerpt, retrieval time, and a SHA-256 record digest — a record you can preserve and return to, not just a search hit.
Know when the record changes
Save a source-specific watch for a subject, agency, contractor, official, program, docket, or phrase. On refresh, Truth Agent compares current records against the fingerprints from your last check and flags a new record, a changed record, or a source that is unavailable. The Source Health panel never hides upstream failures, and clearly labels anything served from cache.
Preserve the evidence in The Dig
Save findings to your Evidence File with title, source, agency, type, date, status, identifiers, URL, retrieval time, and SHA-256 digest. Add research notes and TXT, MD, JSON, and CSV files. Export a portable JSON evidence bundle. The digest helps you detect whether a saved record changed — it does not prove the source was accurate, so check consequential information at the linked original.
Prepare to act — without giving up control
Truth Agent helps you prepare a public-comment or FOIA-request draft. It does not submit comments, FOIA requests, tips, filings, or messages to any agency. You decide what to write, what to change, where to send it, and whether to submit.
Everything else in the workspace
- One calendar — federal holidays, congressional and White House schedules, Supreme Court dates, opportunity and rulemaking deadlines, FOIA dates you add, NOAA forecasts and alerts, USNO sun and moon times, and your own dates. Filter to what matters or open the whole picture; each day links to its records.
- Official military feed — DoD, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, and National Guard releases. Filter by service, open the original, or save to The Dig.
- Federal Business Opportunities — search live Grants.gov by industry, project, or phrase; review eligibility, funding, deadlines, and contacts; save an opportunity and put its deadline on your calendar. Plus official paths for contracts, certifications, financing, hiring, rural and innovation programs, and export support.
- Conditions without device location — pick your nearest city and state for NOAA / NWS forecasts and alerts; no OS location permission required. USNO time, sunrise/sunset, twilight, and moon data, plus clearly labeled Schumann Resonance scientific reference bands (reference information, not a health or single-frequency readout).
- Search your own research — notes, files, civic references, saved evidence, cached material, and stored updates, with excerpts and links. If there is no local match, Truth Agent asks before opening a browser search. You control when research leaves the workspace.
Built around local control
Truth Agent runs as a local desktop workspace. Its server listens only on your computer’s loopback interface. Notes, research, evidence, calendars, watches, settings, local protection, and activation stay in your per-user data folder:
- Windows:
%LOCALAPPDATA%TruthTrenchTruthAgent - macOS:
~/Library/Application Support/TruthTrench/TruthAgent
When you search a live official source, only the search term goes to that public system, under its own policies. Truth Agent does not sell your personal information. Do not enter classified or controlled information, privileged material, passwords, Social Security numbers, or medical data.
Truth Agent is a research engine — not a chatbot, companion, or social relationship.
Download and install
Where to get the files. New buyers: the package links appear on the checkout confirmation page and in your order email. Returning buyers: sign in at My Account → Downloads and use the link there — it always points at the current build. Every beta update is free for owners.
Windows 10/11 (64-bit) — download Truth-Agent-Setup-1.2-Beta-UX43-beta18.zip, extract it, run the installer. It installs for the current user with desktop and Start-menu shortcuts; no administrator password is normally required. This beta is not yet Authenticode signed, so Windows SmartScreen shows an unfamiliar-app warning — choose More info then Run anyway and verify the checksum below.
Mac (macOS 13+) — download Truth-Agent-1.2.0-beta.18-universal.dmg, open it, and drag Truth Agent into Applications. The Mac package is a universal build (Apple Silicon and Intel), Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple. Runs on macOS 13 or newer.
Updating an earlier beta replaces program files only — activation, local protection, notes, files, evidence, calendar, settings, watches, alerts, and caches stay in the separate per-user data folder.
System requirements
Windows — Windows 10/11 64-bit · Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime · ~150 MB storage plus room for research.
Mac — macOS 13+ · Apple Silicon or Intel (universal arm64 + x86_64) · Apple WKWebView (included) · ~200 MB storage plus room for research.
All platforms need internet for activation and live official sources. Saved and cached material stays available when a source is offline.

Important beta notice
Truth Agent 1.2 is a beta release. The Mac DMG is a universal build (Apple Silicon and Intel), Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple. The Windows beta is not yet Authenticode signed and timestamped and may show an unfamiliar-app or publisher warning — verify the published checksum. Truth Agent helps retrieve, organize, preserve, and compare public records; it does not guarantee that an official source is accurate, complete, current, or available, and does not replace independent verification or review of the original source.

Frequently asked questions
I already bought Truth Agent — how do I get this update?
Sign in and open My Account → Downloads. Download the current package again (Windows or Mac); the link there always serves the latest build. Updates are free for owners and your saved research, notes, and The Dig carry over. The links are also in your original order email and under My Account → Orders.
Is Truth Agent a chatbot or companion?
No. It is a federal accountability and research engine. It uses brief status messages while working, nothing more.
Does it search federal sources?
Yes — the Federal Accountability Console covers oversight, spending, rulemaking, Congress, courts, FOIA, influence, enforcement, operational risk, and fiscal data. Coverage depends on the responsible official source.
Does it search the web automatically?
No. If your local collection has no match, it asks before opening a browser search. Searching a live connector sends only the term needed to retrieve those public records.
Can it submit a public comment or FOIA request?
No. It prepares a draft and points you to the official source. You review and submit it yourself.
Will an update erase my research?
No. Activation, local protection, notes, files, evidence, calendar, settings, watches, and caches live in a separate per-user data folder. Beta updates are free for owners — re-download from your account.
Why does Windows show a warning?
This beta is not code-signed yet. Windows treats it as an unfamiliar download. Verify the checksum on this page; signing is the long-term fix.
Can I use it offline?
Yes for saved notes, files, evidence, civic references, and cached material. Activation and live sources (federal APIs, Grants.gov, military feeds, NOAA, USNO) need internet.
Which Mac download?
One universal download runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs (macOS 13 or newer). You do not need to check which chip you have.
Stop rebuilding the trail every time you research the federal government.
