Truth Agent is a personal research assistant for tracking public records, following a thread across sources, and organizing what you find. It’s built for the kind of work that used to live in scattered notebooks, browser tabs, and folders — records requests, hearing transcripts, budget documents, court filings, and everything else that goes into holding public institutions accountable.
Work your way. Truth Agent runs online when you want live sync, and fully offline when you don’t. Your notes, sources, and case files stay on your device by default — nothing leaves your machine until you choose to share it.
Build your own case file. Save documents, notes, timelines, and links inside the agent as you go. Tag entries, connect related findings, and keep a running record that’s organized the way you think — not the way a spreadsheet forces you to.
Cross-reference with the Truth Trench Repository. When you’re ready, upload your findings to the Truth Trench Repository and pull down what other independent researchers have contributed. Think of it as shared version control for reference material: a common library where separate investigations can be compared, corroborated, or ruled out — without anyone needing to reveal who they are or work as part of a formal group.
Stay independent. Truth Agent is built for people who want to do this work on their own terms. You can contribute to and draw from the Repository anonymously, decide exactly what you sync versus keep private, and never lose local access to your own research if you go offline.
Backed by a mission, not a platform. Truth Agent is developed in support of TruthTrench.org, a nonprofit dedicated to keeping public-interest research tools available to everyday people. Proceeds from this product go directly toward maintaining the Repository, supporting the volunteer Dig Team that helps organize and verify shared submissions, and keeping the project independent of outside influence.
