Program Overview:
The Truth Trench Think Tank Internship Program offers a dynamic and enriching experience for aspiring professionals passionate about policy, research, and community impact. Our internships provide hands-on experience in a stimulating environment where interns can contribute to meaningful projects and gain valuable insights into the workings of a leading think tank.
Program Objectives:
- Practical Experience: Provide interns with real-world experience in research, policy analysis, and organizational operations.
- Skill Development: Enhance interns’ professional skills, including research methodology, data analysis, and communication.
- Professional Networking: Facilitate connections with experts, stakeholders, and other professionals in the field.
- Career Growth: Support interns in identifying career paths and opportunities within the think tank sector and related fields.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Education: Current students or recent graduates from accredited institutions, preferably in fields such as political science, economics, public policy, social sciences, or related disciplines.
- Skills: Strong research and analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Commitment: Availability for a minimum of 10-15 hours per week for a duration of 3-6 months.
- Attitude: Enthusiasm, reliability, and a commitment to contributing to our mission of driving impactful change.
Internship Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Research Intern
- Responsibilities:
- Conduct literature reviews and gather data on various policy issues.
- Assist in data collection, analysis, and synthesis for research reports.
- Support senior researchers with the preparation of presentations and reports.
- Skills Developed:
- Advanced research techniques and data analysis.
- Report writing and presentation skills.
2. Policy Analysis Intern
- Responsibilities:
- Analyze policy documents, legislation, and public reports.
- Contribute to the development of policy briefs and recommendations.
- Attend and summarize meetings and discussions related to policy issues.
- Skills Developed:
- Policy analysis and evaluation.
- Strategic thinking and policy formulation.
3. Communications Intern
- Responsibilities:
- Assist in crafting and editing content for the organization’s website, newsletters, and social media.
- Support the planning and execution of outreach campaigns and events.
- Help manage media relations and create press materials.
- Skills Developed:
- Content creation and digital marketing.
- Media relations and public communication.
4. Events Intern
- Responsibilities:
- Support the planning and coordination of Thirsty Thursday Events and the Annual Event.
- Assist with logistics, including venue arrangements, guest coordination, and on-site support.
- Help with post-event analysis and feedback collection.
- Skills Developed:
- Event planning and management.
- Organizational and logistical skills.
