Hiring Accelerates in March Despite Tariff Hysteria, ADP Reports
  • Private-sector job growth accelerated in March, according to data released Wednesday by ADP, countering gloomy predictions that tariffs would slam the brakes on the labor market. Instead, hiring came in stronger than expected, with 155,000 jobs added across the U.S. economy—even as corporate media and left-leaning economists warn daily of a looming slowdown.
  • Professional and business services led the way with 57,000 new jobs, followed by financial activities with 38,000 and manufacturing with 21,000.

Trump’s Six-Point Plan for Making America Great Again

  • First, there was his all-important warning shot to the EU that its days of protectionism are numbered. America wants better access to European markets and a more level playing field for many products which continue to be the subject of extremely high tariffs.
  • The U.S. also wants a more flexible EU Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) that will give U.S. agri-products better access to European markets.
  • No longer would they be able to artificially suppress demand for American vehicles by keeping 10% tariffs on U.S. cars when the U.S. tariff is only 2.5%.
  • No longer would they be able to prevent global companies such as Amazon from competing in European markets by requiring the company to unionize their labor forces.
  • Second, Trump is intent on bringing back American investment from overseas. Though he knows that American footprint in the EU pales in comparison with that in China, he is not willing to take on China, head-on, right from the start.
  • Behind the scenes, however, he is encouraging many U.S. companies to “come home to the U.S.A.” from China when their manufacturing contracts are up for renewal. He knows that China is the big drain on U.S. manufacturing investment, especially when it comes to short-run specialized manufacturing.Europe is just a trial balloon for what comes later.Third, Trump is actively engaged in making American government great again by eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse in U.S. departments and agencies.

  • Fourth, by making European products more expensive in the U.S., it is expected that American consumers will buy more American goods thereby reducing our trade imbalance.

  • Trump is willing to take that chance for the short-term in order to get concessions from Europe on trade while he continues to encourage American companies to reduce their investment there.Fifth, Trump is intent on pursuing a rebalancing of American business and popular culture, all with an aim to increase efficiency and productivity, as well as to ensure fairness and equality in the workplace. By eliminating DEI and CRT and stopping quota-based hiring practices and university admissions, he’s counting on bringing back meritocracy as the foundation of American business which he feels will eventually lead to better outcomes, higher profits, and increased job satisfaction. Americans want equal opportunity, not unequal advantage. to be the bedrock of their culture, and Trump is intent on remaking the American workplace.Sixth, Trump wants to use the elimination of government departments and savings from DOGE, lower energy prices achieved from new drilling and production of fossil fuels and the return of manufacturing jobs and investment to America as the basis for giving the American public tax cuts in his first year in office. By doing so, he believes he will assure his party of a mid-term election win so that he can make good on his promises to “Make America Great Again.”

Five Ways Non-Citizens With Social Security Numbers Can Scam America

  • When Elon Musk and his DOGE colleague Antonio Gracias showed a Wisconsin audience how non-citizens get Social Security Numbers (SSNs), their presentation painted the clearest picture yet of the long-term damage former President Joe Biden’s open border policy will have on the United States.
  • The total SSNs issued in 2021 was roughly 270,000; in 2022 it climbed to 590,000, and in 2023, there were 964,000 SSNs issued to new non-citizens. But in 2024 it more than doubled to over 2 million. This counts only non-citizens who got their SSNs through the Enumeration Beyond Entry program, a system where the Social Security Administration automatically issues SSNs and cards to certain foreign nationals in the U.S., as part of an agreement with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
  • Get a High-Paying Job
  • With a work authorization card in their wallet, non-citizens can find legitimate work. Work at higher wages is the main reason people come to the U.S., 
  • Collect Social Security Benefits
  • Let’s say you are an American who started working at 16 and retired at 67. You’ve been paying into Social Security with every paycheck for 51 years. Non-citizens can draw Social Security after working 40 quarters — that is 10 years.
  • “Even if you’re here unlawfully, so long as you work for 40 quarters, which is 10 years, you’re eligible for Social Security benefits,” Arthur said.
  • It means millions of people will get full benefits without contributing decades of income to the fund. You don’t have to be a math whiz to know that is not sustainable.
  • Social Security Numbers are Forever
  • Social Security Numbers don’t expire; once a non-citizen has one, they keep it, no matter where life takes them.
  • “You now have a population of a million or more who have valid Social Security Numbers, who will be able to work, albeit illegally, in the United States forever,” Arthur said. “Even if Trump took away all of their statuses tomorrow and all their work authorization, they could still work because an employer can’t ask to look at your employment authorization document. The employer can only ask for certain documents, and the two most common are driver’s licenses and Social Security cards.”
  • Benefits For Babies

Many states let voters register via mail by providing either a driver’s license number or a the last four digits of their SSN. A non-citizen could use their SSN to register, then vote absentee. County election workers who check the SSN against the database of numbers would find the number valid, with no clue it is a non-citizen.

  • Secretary of State William H. Seward was keenly in favor of annexing Iceland and Greenland in the 1860s as part of American expansionism. Not only was Greenland abundant in minerals, fish, and game, but it provided a strategic military base. Denmark was willing to listen to the proposal and considered selling Iceland and Greenland for $5.5 million in gold. There was no formal offer and President Andrew Johnson along with Congress refused to approve of a treaty, as it was considered wasteful by Republicans at the time.
  • America believed Canada may consider joining the United States if they acquired Greenland. 
  • The Alaska Purchase of 1867 was immediately met with backlash. The media mocked the purchase of Alaska as “Seward’s icebox” or “Seward’s folly,” angered that the $7.2 million purchase should have been spent elsewhere. The media claimed the “polar bear garden” had nothing of value and relentlessly mocked the acquisition. The unpopularity of the Alaksa Purchase is one of the reasons the Greenland proposal failed back then.

This would enable members of Congress who have recently given birth or whose spouses have given birth to designate another member to cast votes on their behalf for a limited period—up to 12 weeks—while they are unable to be physically present in Washington, D.C., due to childbirth or related recovery.

Here’s what happened: On April 1, 2025, a procedural rule vote, which sets the terms for debating and voting on a package of GOP-led bills (including the SAVE Act), failed by a vote of 206-222. Nine Republicans joined all Democrats to defeat the rule. The rule’s failure meant the House could not move forward with floor action that week, effectively halting votes on multiple items on President Trump’s agenda, such as the SAVE Act, a measure addressing judicial overreach, and repeals of Biden-era regulations. Johnson, facing this setback, announced that the House would adjourn until Monday, April 7, 2025, canceling the remaining session days.
The root cause of the rule’s defeat was a bipartisan push, led by Representatives Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) and Brittany Pettersen (D-Colo.), to allow proxy voting for new parents in Congress. Luna had gathered 218 signatures on a discharge petition to force a vote on this resolution, which would permit lawmakers who recently gave birth or whose spouses did to vote remotely via proxy for up to 12 weeks. Johnson and GOP leadership opposed this, viewing proxy voting as unconstitutional and a break from tradition. To block Luna’s petition, they crafted the procedural rule to derail it indirectly, but this strategy backfired when some Republicans, including Luna and others supportive of the proxy measure, voted against the rule alongside Democrats.
The SAVE Act, which requires proof of citizenship for voter registration in federal elections, was not the primary target of this maneuver but became collateral damage. Johnson could have proposed a new rule without the proxy voting contention or brought the SAVE Act to the floor independently, as it doesn’t strictly require a rule to be voted on. However, he chose to pause House activities instead, likely to regroup and address internal party divisions. Posts on X and news reports suggest frustration among some Republicans who saw this as a missed opportunity to advance key legislation, but there’s no evidence Johnson canceled the session specifically to stop the SAVE Act—rather, it was a consequence of his failed attempt to manage the proxy voting dispute.
Anna Paulina Luna has not previously attempted to force a vote on the specific proxy voting resolution for new parents prior to her effort in April 2025, as described earlier.
