Trump IRS Purge: 15,000 Employees Have Been Identified for Potential Termination as Early as Next Week 

  • The Trump administration has executed one of the most significant workforce reductions in U.S. history, targeting over 200,000 probationary employees across multiple government agencies.
  • According to data from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), as of March 2024, approximately 220,000 federal workers had not yet completed their probationary period.

  • CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins boosted the legal fund page for Luigi Mangion, the alleged assassin of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. After backlash ensued online, the news anchor promptly deleted the post from X.Kaitlan Collins, the White House correspondent for CNN as well as anchor for the outlet, promoted the legal defense fund for Mangione, who has been accused of assassinating Thompson. Collins posted a link to the fund on X, writing, “Luigi Mangione’s legal defense team has launched a new website today.”The post was deleted shortly after backlash ensued in reaction to her boosting the legal fund.

  • Rachel Maddow ripped into Elon Musk  in a segment that had a lot of people riled up, claiming that Elon Musk had somehow convinced the State Department to buy $400 million in armored Tesla units.
  • This may be the lamest Maddow attack ever (and that’s saying something) as she desperately tried to mock Musk. How bizarre these folk on the left are when their craziness is all they have to show. The relevant part past the mocking starts at 3:43.

DOGE scores big court win, allowed access data on 3 federal agencies

  • A federal judge in Washington on Friday handed Elon Musk’s government efficiency team a win by declining a request to temporarily block it from accessing sensitive data from at least three federal agencies.
  • Unions and nonprofits attempted to stop Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing records at the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
  • U.S. District Judge John Bates wrote in an opinion that the government was likely correct in categorizing DOGE as an agency, thereby allowing it to detail its staff to other government departments.
  • However, Bates called his finding a “close question,” noting that the government did not want DOGE to be considered an agency for purposes of another federal law, which would subject it to open records requests.

  • Judge Tanya Chutkan, an Obama appointee held a hearing on Friday afternoon after 14 Democrat state attorneys general sued Trump and DOGE and claimed Elon Musk is operating with unchecked power since he is not senate confirmed.
  • Blue states such as Arizona, Michigan, Rhode Island, New Mexico, California, Massachusetts and others filed a lawsuit arguing President Trump violated the Appointments Clause of the Constitution when he created DOGE and gave Elon Musk ‘unchecked power.’
  • The attorneys general argued that since Elon Musk is not senate confirmed, he should be barred from issuing orders to anyone inside of the executive branch.
  • They argued that the Trump Admin’s creation of DOGE with Elon Musk at the helm violates the Appointments Clause of the Constitution.
  • In a strange twist, the exact argument previously played out in Tanya Chutkan’s court. Recall that President Trump’s lawyers in a motion to dismiss argued that Jack Smith’s appointment to special counsel violated the Appointments Clause of the Constitution because he was not senate confirmed.
  • Judge Chutkan tossed out Trump’s motion to dismiss based on the Appointments Clause argument, however, Judge Cannon dismissed the classified documents case based on this very argument.
  • On Friday, Judge Chutkan appeared to be skeptical of the emergency restraining order request.
  •  , Chutkan was not buying the demand for emergency relief after a lawyer for New Mexico argued that Elon Musk is a “literal wrecking ball.”
  • The lawyer argued that an emergency TRO was necessary because Elon Musk will work all weekend and cause harm over the weekend.
